Story
My creations are all handcrafted – one of a kind or in small batches. I have always been inspired by the work of traditional western and Native American artisans. My medium of choice is low fire clay- I am perpetually captivated by it’s endless possibilities! I interpret that fusion of clay + inspiration in a rustic rugged style. Uniquely individual, proudly made in Montana, USA.
About the Owner/Designer
Cathy here- I’m a small town kind of girl who cherishes life in Montana. My studio is in our home on the Clark Fork River in the picture perfect mountains of western Montana- what most people dream of. I worked many years as a medical laboratory professional and in my spare time developed a passion for working in clay, seeking my own unique vibe. I found my artistic voice by interpreting the bold gorgeous western/Native jewelry pieces I longed for, in my medium and style. Bold…with western soul. And now I’m able to direct all my energy into my passion- creating X bar 4 Studio treasures! I hope you love my jewelry as much as I love creating it for you. It is so versatile- you can wear the same pieces with jeans and a t-shirt, and then dress it up to go with your western couture and statement boots. Thanks for shopping X bar 4 Studio and supporting my small business!
Giving Back
“We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give. -Winston Churchill I am enormously blessed to be able to do what I passionately love, and giving back in a little way is a great privilege. And what could be more important than helping others? So I donate a percentage of all sales to FAST Blackfeet and NIWRC (National Indigenous Women's Resource Center). Thanks for helping these two incredible organizations!
About the Name
The X bar 4 cattle brand was registered in the 1940’s in Cascade county, Montana by my father-in-law and used on a working cattle ranch. It was inherited by my husband and me. In my heart, that brand stands for integrity, hard work and the spirit of Montana. It only seemed fitting to honor that heritage, when this venture began, with the X bar 4 name.
